Galah Cockatoos have rose colored feathers on the breast and the underside of the wings, a pink head and chest, with their crest being a lighter pink. They have a grey back, wings and tail, their flight feathers are a darker grey and they have a flash of pink of the underside of each wing. Galah are about 25-30 cm (10-12 inches) in length and weight about 280-320 grams.They have a life span of approximately 40-50 years, depending on nutrition and care.While they are among the smaller Cockatoo species, Rose-Breasted Cockatoos still need plenty of space to live in. The minimum cage size for a Rose-Breasted Cockatoo is 4 ft. x 4 ft. x 4 ft. But of course as it always is with cages, bigger is always better.Fresh fruit is a good source of nutrition for them as well. Nuts such as walnuts, almonds and pecans can be used as a training treat and are very healthy for them. This diet should be supplemented by a high quality formulated spelled diet. Fresh water should be available at all times.
